Salvation – The redemption of man. Out of love for mankind God sent His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for the sins of the world. In the world today the salvation of man is promoted in various ways to the point of much confusion. The truth of salvation must be found in the Bible, the Word of God.

Although there are many religions, there are really only two schools of thought concerning salvation. On the one hand is the idea that salvation is in some way dependent on the works of man, the sinner. On the other hand salvation is based solely upon the grace of God. Notice what the Bible says.

Romans 11:6
And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

Salvation must be either by grace or it is by works. There is no middle of the road. Whether one work or many works are required for man’s salvation it falls into the category of works and therefore work is work and not grace. So which is it, grace or works?

All men are sinners.

Romans 3:23
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

The penalty of sin is death.

Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

A person must be perfect to enter heaven.

Revelation 21:27
And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

Man can do nothing to obtain this perfection.

Galatians 2:16
Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

Ephesians 2:8-9
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

God provided a sin-bearer, Jesus Christ, and imputes to man His righteousness.

Isaiah 53:6
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

2 Corinthians 5:21
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Man needs only belief in Jesus Christ as his personal Savior for salvation.

John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Acts 16:31
And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

Man can be certain of his salvation now and that his salvation cannot be lost because eternal life is eternal.

John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

1 John 5:13
These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

We are dedicated to the clear gospel of grace apart from any works for salvation.
