Plans for Reopening Notice

Plans for Reopening

Update: June 11, 2020

Greetings to you all,

Success! We had a wonderful time at our Wednesday Evening Bible Study. Therefore, beginning on Sunday, June 14 we will be open for the 11 AM service. We are observing the appropriate suggestions by the CDC for hygiene.

It is our intent to continue the online services as many people have expressed how much they have enjoyed them. We look forward to eventually reopening all our ministries. Thank you for your patience at this
challenging time as we work out the bugs.

The bottom line is that we are open for…
11 AM Sunday Worship
7 PM Wednesday Bible Study

The prerecorded online services will be…
11 AM Sunday Worship
7 PM Wednesday Bible Study

Keep praying for God’s guidance as we move forward in service to Him.

In Christ,

Rodney W. Holler
Pastor

Update: June 3, 2020

Greetings to you all,

The last few months have been unusual. At times it has been a challenge to make sense of things. Worshiping online is a blessing but there is nothing like assembling as a body of believers.

On Sunday May 31, 2020 we had a church board meeting via conference call to consider reopening the church. The board was in full agreement in favor of opening the church on Wednesday June 10 for our 7PM Bible Study. It should be a wonderful reunion of our church family!

Please understand: If any one does not believe it would be wise for them or their family to attend at this time, please wait until you think it is safe to do so. This is an individual choice and it will be respected. You are under no pressure to come. If you have any concerns or questions, feel free to call the church, we would be glad to talk with you.

We are doing our best to take precautions to ensure everyone’s safety. We are asking for your cooperation. As such, we have prepared a list of guidelines we will be following when we reopen:

  • Prior to any service, the church facility will be sanitized.
  • Any person who has had any contact with known COVID-19 confirmed cases, or who has flu symptoms, or a fever, should stay home and self-quarantine. Please do not put others at risk.
  • It is advisable to check temperatures at home before you come to church.
  • If you are a high-risk individual based on age (over 65) or certain poor health conditions, you may possibly want to stay home at this time.
  • We are asking that you not engage in hand shaking, hugging, or other physical contact.
  • Be sure to stay at least six feet apart before, during, and after the worship service. This will be difficult for some, but we ask you to fully cooperate with this. Families may sit closer together, but otherwise social distancing should be followed. The seating will be directed to do our best to facilitate as many people as we can.
  • Doors will be either propped open or held open by ushers to prevent the need to touch doors while entering and exiting the building.
  • Be sure to thoroughly wash your hands (20 seconds) when using the restrooms. The restrooms will have limited capacity numbers listed on the doors.
  • Feel free to bring water only from home because the drinking fountains will be disabled and unavailable for use.
  • Individuals may drop off their financial gifts to the church at the designated area located in the back of the auditorium.
  • There will be no nursery available at this time. Parents with little ones will be responsible for taking care of their own children. If they are making distracting noises, we ask that you take them out of the service.
  • We ask that all parents keep their children with them before, during and after the worship services.

For now, this Wednesday evening will be the only service open. Historically the Wednesday service is the least attended so it will give us an opportunity to organize, assemble and learn with a minimum of confusion.

We will evaluate our procedures and adjust them, as necessary. Depending on how this service goes will lead us to reopen further services and ministries. It is our goal to resume normal operation as soon as practical. Pray for God’s blessings on our efforts.

These are precautions that we believe the church must take to be responsible as we reopen. We will continue to restart our various ministries when we believe it is safe to do so.

While we look forward to seeing each one of you, again please keep in mind that you are not required to attend if you do not feel comfortable doing so. You can still watch all three services online at: https://www.capebaptist.org/listen. If you have any questions, please call the church (239) 242-8022.
